Scrappy Trip-a-Long : WIP Wednesday

I’ve been dying to see how these blocks would come together and I just couldn’t wait any longer! My WIP pile may be a mess, I may have more quilts in progress than I could ever hope to finish in a lifetime but to heck with it all! I need one of these quilts. I’ve finally started on the long awaited scrappy trip-along quilt! I purchased a “posy” jellyroll and a “simple life” design roll to make up the body of the quilt.

I made up the first block really quickly in alternating rows of aqua and red.. I just love how it came out!!

The second block I took care to use mostly pastels with a bit of red thrown in for good measure…

After seeing all of these together I am loving the pastel color palette I’ve chosen but I have realized there is no yellow in the entire line of fabrics! I may have to purchase a FQ somewhere because I love a good spring yellow… we’ll see though. I can’t wait to stitch up more blocks! It’s very addicting!

Love your scrappy trip along blocks. I’ve been wanting to make one of these myself and wondered how it would work with jelly roll strips. Are you finding that you can get enough blocks out of each strip?

    • You should be able to get two 16″ strips from each jelly roll strip, I have a jellyroll and a design roll but I think I need another jellyroll to finish to the size I’d like. I’ll post all the information about how many jellyrolls I used when I finish :)

Oh so pretty, I love it! I have a million things started but don’t care this is on my list!

    • Sometimes you just gotta make what strikes your fancy at the time right? :) I need to spend more time sewing but with the holidays coming it’s not always practical to slip down and sew.. but I am staying up later night to make some blocks! I love making these!
