It’s been a long while since I’ve had anything quilt related to post! Actually, it’s been a long while since I’ve done any real quilting for myself! It feels good to be getting back in the groove. I have a lengthy to-do list so I will use winter hibernation as an excuse to stay in and sew! That being said.. remember that stash of fabric I had for that quilt kit that I was so unhappy with?
The colors were just so not me.. the fabrics were nothing I would normally choose for myself and I really didn’t like how the finished kit looked.. I was so depressed about it that it stayed stashed in my ‘ugly fabric’ pile. In truth, the fabric is quite pretty as a collection and it’s really a nice autumny color palette.. something my finished pile has never really had.
Then I stumbled upon a challenge.. “Use your ugly fabrics” and I started thinking.. maybe I could find another way to use the fabrics and combine them with a cream (you know how I like my whites!) and maybe it would make me enjoy the colors more.. I found Thimble Blossom’s Niner pattern and thought that maybe I’d try laying these out to see how it looked.. and you know what? I liked it!
So here’s the very, early start of a Niner and I really, really like it.
